For recording these sounds I used a Tascam DR-05X which is a budget field recorder. With this field recorder it’s hard to achieve recordings that don’t distort when reaching the gain threshold, and because of this some of these recordings are less than ideal. For instance, the recording of me stamping on the disability ramp clips slightly. More expensive field recorders have in built limiters so in hindsight I should have taken out and used a field recorder from the kit room. Furthermore, isolating the sound and achieving completely clean audio is nigh on impossible in such a busy central location. So in some of these recordings it’s possible to hear conversations, trolleys, doors slamming etc.
