An Oram Award-winning and history making storyteller in her own right, Nicole Raymond (NikNak) is devoted to developing her unique practice as a DJ & Turntablist, sound artist/composer, producer, tutor, sound engineer and radio presenter.

Many people enter sound arts from different routes, Nicole Raymond as mainly a DJ and Turntablist has a completely different approach to me as a pianist and analogue synthesiser enthusiast. It would be interesting to hear, as a storyteller, how she can use these skills within sound arts. Maybe telling stories that revolve around onomatopoeia, being creative with the voice to tell stories and see how each person might perceive or build a story up in their own head based off these sounds. Comparing these stories and finding out how certain vocal sounds are perceived due to psychoacoustic and social/cultural effects would be fascinating.
