A document I made highlighting all the sounds our group will need to record for Level 1 of our game.
Working with the MA Games Design students can be quite challenging. There’s a slight language and cultural barrier between us, the sound artists who either went to international school or grew up in the UK and the games designers who are all from China and who’s English requires a lot of concentration to understand. This also bleeds into the written game plans they have sent us, where documents in Chinese are translated to English through google translate, requiring us often to read through the lines a little bit on what they’re describing. To combat this we’ve set up a couple meetings where we’ve developed together the best way to undertake recognising the sounds we need to record. So instead they have now sent us a list with all the sounds they would like, with the kind of mood the sounds should paint.
