Videos of my favourite parts of a modular jam I did. All sounds are synthesised by modular or semi modular synthesisers. A couple of the modules used to sequence/process sounds are digital modules, like the granular audio processor, master clock/modulator (pamela’s new workout) and sequencer I use in this patch. All the other modules I use are analogue.

There are 4 different voices present in the first video. The bass and snare made with white noise are provided by the Moog DFAM, the melodic line by a complex oscillator and the high pitched jingly clicking sounds by feeding a complex oscillator through a granular audio processor. I was modulating numerous parameters to create variation in all the sounds, aiming to make the each voice seem fluid and alive almost seeming as if it could be generative as opposed to standard set rhythm and melody.

For the second video the complex oscillator is inaudible as I’ve made the granular audio processor 100% wet. I’ve also patched a clocked line of random voltage coming from Pamela’s New Workout, a clock, trigger, LFO, envelope, etc. generator into the V/oct input on the granular audio processor. An interesting melodic line is formed because of this.
